Link's Awakening - Sequel to A Link to the Past, after Ganon was destroyed, Link goes of on an adventure to better hone is skills for the next threat to Hyrule while the people speak of what my rise from Ganon's Ashes. At this time in the series history, Ganon was suppose to be in the Golden Land (Dark World) until the game's present day, so this couldn't have come any where but before TLoZ, telling the backstory of Ganon. In present day, Agahnim is working to break the seal on the Golden Land (Sacred Realm) by sacrificing the 7 descendants of the Sages. Ganondorf the thief invaded the Golden Land and stole the Triforce and was sealed away by the 7 Sages. Zelda: A Link to the Past - A prequel to the previous two Zeldas, and ever further explains the history of Hyrule with the Imprisoning War that happend centuries ago.

With the full Triforce, Zelda will awaken and peace will come to Hyrule. The only way to wake is for Link to break the binding force seal on the Great Palace and recover the Triforce of Courage. She has been put to sleep long ago for refusing to tell the secrets of the Triforce.
Link is approaching his 16th birthday when Impa tells him "The Legend of Zelda" and shows him the sleeping Princess Zelda (a different Zelda from the first game). Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - Several years after The Legend of Zelda, Hyrule is on the road to ruin. Link recovers wisdom, destroys Ganon, and saves Princess Zelda. The Legend of Zelda - Ganon attacks the kingdom on Hyrule and steals the Triforce of Power. The easiest way to piece together the timeline is to look at the games as they were released. Meanwhile, The Wind Waker occurs in the "Adult Timeline", one hundred years after the Hero of Time saved Hyrule in Ocarina of Time, and it is directly followed by Phantom Hourglass. Twilight Princess then occurs over one hundred years later, after Link's role as a child in the events of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. They attempt to execute him, but he overpowers them, and the sages are instead forced to banish him to the Twilight Realm. Once returned to his original time, Link leaves the Master Sword in its place, preventing Ganondorf's plan from coming to fruition, and goes to see Zelda again, resulting in the "Child Timeline" in which the villain Ganondorf is arrested and tried by the ancient sages.
The timeline is split at the end of Ocarina of Time, when Link is sent back in time by Princess Zelda to live through his childhood, while the original events of Ocarina of Time continue on a different path. In an interview conducted by Nintendo Dream with Eiji Aonuma in December 2006, it was revealed that there are two parallel universes in the Zelda chronology.
